Happy Earth Day

Hello All

In celebration of our beautiful Earth I have a fun craft to share with you. It includes recycling and the outdoors. I made this for my Aunt for her birthday and I hope to make more in the future. It's a twig vase and I found the idea on Pinterest via homemadeserenity.blogspot.com

All you need is:
A Glass Jar
Hot Glue Gun
Hemp Twine
Ribbon

Step 1: Gather twigs from your yard or neighborhood
(this was my daughters favorite part)
Step 2: Use Hot Glue to glue twigs to glass jar
Step 3: Wrap Hemp Twine around the twigs and tie tight
Step 4: Add your Ribbon any with and color you'd like
Step 5: Fill your jar with water and flower
Viola! A perfect environment friendly gift

Later I added a yellow ribbon because it just needed something else.

Happy Earth Day!

Sheik Birthday

Hello All

I worked on another birthday card yesterday, just as promised. This time I needed more of a feminine card and this one is just that. It's pink and black and reminds me of lace for some reason. I got the layout idea from Mama Mo Stamps via Pinterest.

This was such a simple card to put together, yet it is so sheik. I just love pink and black together.

Well, I'm off to create more cards. Keep visiting for new/fun ideas.

Golf Birthday Card

Hi All

My uncles birthday is tomorrow and I wanted to make him a special card. Since he enjoys golfing I had the perfect card idea for him. I found the layout on Pinterest via Julie's Japes from the UK. I switched a few things up to make it my own. I'm thinking I should have made more than two, because this is a perfect guy card.

Golf Birthday

I love this one, but the only thing I would change is an oval instead of a circle for the "hole" to give it more of a 3d effect. Guess I know what's going to be on my next order!

More Birthday cards to come. April is a big birthday month in my family.

Fancy Dancy Shoes

Hello All

Happy Spring Break! Hope you all had a blessed Easter. I am trying to come up with new and fun things to do with my girls this week while they are home from school. The first thing we tried actually took most of the day. It included many steps. Each step just as fun as the last. The girls created their very own pair of shoes!

I already purchased the shoes a few weeks ago with this project in mind. So. the first thing we did was go to the store and pick the color Rit dye they wanted their shoes to be. Thankfully they both chose purple, so that made things easy.

The Finished Product

Here are what the $5 pair of canvas shoes from Walmart looked like before.

Nice White Shoes...

First we let the shoes soak in the purple dye for 30 minutes.

Then we let them dry outside in the sun during nap. I decided throw them in the dryer for approximately 20 minutes to speed up the process. Bad idea! The inside fabric came unglued, so I used fabric glue to glue them back in.

Next I had the girls color both sides of their shoe laces with Sharpies. What ever color combo they wanted.

Then it was time for BLING! The girls picked out which ones they wanted and showed me where on the shoes they wanted them. I used Mighty Gem It to glue them in place.

Here are my happy girls with their new blinged out purple shoes with funky laces. They can not wait to wear them!

I am planning on making cards tonight. Check back in tomorrow to see what I come up with.

Easter Themed Busy Bag

Hi All

Here is another busy bag idea I found on Pinterest from engagingtoddleractivities.wordpress.com. It's an Easter themed activity, but it can be used all throughout the year.

It's an egg matching game. Here is a picture:

First I printed up some egg templates found here http://www.coloring.ws/t_template.asp?t=http://www.coloring.ws/easter/egg4.gif (I transferred them to a word document and made them smaller) Next I colored the templates with different egg color combos then cut them out. Finally I glued them to note cards, wrote the color for word recognition and put clear contact paper over them for protection.

Viola! A simple Easter themed busy bag ready for rest time. Can't wait for my oldest to try it out!

Visit again soon. New card ideas on the way!!
